Well, the annual 3 day Sierra Art Trails (SAT) weekend marathon is over. Time to sit down with a cup of coffee and take a deep breath, before breaking everything down and storing it away until next year.
It was another great weekend, with friends/artist returning that I’d met at past Art Trails, many new friends/artists visiting my location for the first time, wonderful conversations and the passing on of many of my pieces into the hands of new caretaker/owners. I love talking about art almost as much as I like creating it and SAT is always the perfect forum in which to do that.
Thank you to all who visited my location this year, for your friendship, conversation, mutual love of art, purchases and support.
Looking forward, I see my long-time friend, Dennis Lewis, will be the artist demonstrating his craft immediately following our membership meeting and potluck this month (Saturday, October 15th). For those of you who don’t know, Dennis and I attended CalArts together (the art school then better known as Chouinard’s) and have known each other since we were 18. If you’ve never seen one of Dennis’ demonstrations before, you need to know that in addition to being one of the most accomplished artists working today (see his paintings above, lower left and right), he delivers a very entertaining demonstration. His demos always promise a ton of information and a trunk-load of laughter. You don’t want to miss this one!
