This month’s congratulations go out to Jack Lantz. Jack was voted Yosemite Western Artists, Member of the Month, for November 2015.
Way to go Jack!
Jack wears many hats at YWA. He serves on the Yosemite Western Artists Board as 2nd Vice-President, recruits models for the Friday Live Model Sessions, and obtains demonstrators for our monthly meetings.
But wait, there’s more! Jack arrives early each Friday to make sure the coffee is ready, and the fire is going strong before everyone arrives for the Live Model Sessions. He’s even spent the night at The Gertrude to protect our art!
And last but certainly not least, Jack’s always got an encouraging word for all the folks he encounters.
Jack’s moving out of our area soon, and we shall miss his dancing spirit.
Thanks Jack, for your bright spirit and dedicated service to Yosemite Western Artists.

“I believe that there’s an underlying spirituality in everything around us. In painting a figure, a portrait, a still life, or a plein-air landscape, I try to capture these inner qualities and to show the emotional side in everything, mixed with a touch of the Divine. In my work I mix live observation and imagination with an emphasis on light, emotion, and divinity. I strive to take my artwork in a direction that not only pleases the eye but evokes a spiritual response as well.”
